Healthwatch: What Would You Do?

Healthwatch Lancashire are carrying out a survey, encouraging members of the public to give their ideas and suggestions for how to make the NHS better in Lancashire.

The survey comes after the Long Term Plan and asks:

  • How would you help people live healthier lives?
  • What would make health services better?
  • How would you make it easier for people to take control of their own health and wellbeing?
  • What would you do to make support better for people with long-term conditions?

For more information and to have your say, visit:
https://healthwatchlancashire.co.uk/home/what-would-you-do/

Please share this survey with anyone you know that might be interested; Healthwatch are particularly keen to engage with younger people as the current response rate from the younger age brackets is low.

Suicide Prevention training

There is a free 20 minute online training course that is available to everyone on the Zero Suicide Alliance’s website enabling people on how to recognise the warning signs and safeguard someone who could be contemplating suicide. You can access the training on the Zero Suicide Alliance website.

There is also some useful local information on the Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria website.

New Diabetes Befriending Circle in Cumbria

Diabetes UK are starting a Befriending Circle across Cumbria to provide distance based support for people living with diabetes.

Those interested would be matched with a Befriender, depending on their circumstances and would receive support over the phone or via email.
