City Windows “Spring into Art” was a rousing success well attended by many of our community. Our window display looks fabulous! Paintings will be on display for 30 days and GAA members  will continue to display art until the store is rented.  Please visit: 123 Artsakh, Glendale in the new Arts and Entertainment area.

Our board members Diane C., Lynne R., Yvonne J., Stefani G., William H., Jeneanne I., Jasmine K., Laura H., Charlene. N., and Helena B., participated.

Our demonstrator for May's meeting: Meet Pam McDonald

"I started studying watercolor with Jane Friend at the Betsy Lueke Creative Art Center.  It turned out to be a 30 year course. With Jane's passing I have taken over her art class. I like to teach many different aspects of this medium. In addition to teaching art, I also teach figure skating to adults at Pickwick Ice Center. I hold 5 National  Titles and one bronze medal at the Adult World competition. Being involved in skating competitions and art competitions has taught me well to accept rejections and praise from judges.

If my Irises hold up I will paint a white flower on white paper.  If not I will paint a landscape using an interesting technique.
I am on FB as Pam McDonald watercolorist and on Instagram."

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
We would like to thank our April demonstrator, John Byram, for his informative talk on watercolor painting.  Many of us picked up helpful tips such as,  where to get certain paintbrushes and spatulas, and how to approach the overall painting.

We are welcoming Pam McDonald for our May demonstration, a watercolor artist from Burbank. We are looking forward to her lovely flowers or landscapes.

We have two events to work on this month!
First, we need 10 artists to display work at 123 Artsakh Ave. for our city Window Art. We will be setting it up on Thursday, May 23rd at 10am. There are 2 artists already interested. The paintings will be on display for one month on a rotating schedule for GAA members.  Please send in your 2 works with a photo by May 20th so we can type up the list for the window. They will be first come, first exhibited. Please include all the usual information just like for a show to :  submitglendaleartassociation@gmail.com

Second, the call for artists is now open(see details below) for our show at Swain's.  We would love to see your new work.  The title is "SoCal Summer",  so there are lots of possibilities there.
