Each year, seniors write a letter of gratitude to a Lake Hamilton School District employee that made a positive impact on their life while in school. This year, we decided to surprise some of our employees with their letter in a special way.

The employee was asked to come in a room that was set up for a film shoot. Not knowing why they were there, the employees were asked to simply read a letter out loud for film that had been written to them. After reading the letter, the employees were surprised when the senior walked out from behind the curtain to present them with a special certificate.

Oftentimes, educators do not receive the respect and appreciation they deserve. The Lake Hamilton School District is blessed to have a staff full of caring, compassionate, and dedicated individuals that make a positive impact on their students every day. During this Teacher Appreciation Week, the LHSD encourages everyone to take a moment and #ThankATeacher.

One of the seniors put it best in her message to her former educator: "...thank you, not just a half-hearted thank you, but a real thank you for making a difference in my life. Your work matters. Please know that it matters not just today, tomorrow, or next week. But that it matters for decades to come..."
