Minnis Bay is a new club on the Dart 18 circuit this year, it’s just along the road from Whitstable. There are a number of Dart 18’s that sail at the club so please come along and introduce them to some great UKIDA Dart 18 racing.

Minnis Bay Sailing Club looks forward to welcoming Dart 18 sailors on 18th May. 

Minnis Bay, as an area, is one of Kent's best kept secrets - the first time visitor cannot fail to be impressed by the quality of the beach and its surroundings. We have a sand beach with a concrete slipway which is kept clear for events and we will also have club members on the beach to help with leaving and returning to the beach. Our race officer and safety boat crews have years of local knowledge and will be happy to offer help and advice please just ask.

Members will be at the club from Friday lunch time to welcome you and direct you to boat parking area and if you are camping we do have space on grass areas in our boat park for tents.  There are limited spaces but we will try to accommodate as many tents as possible. This past week Thanet District Council has introduced parking restrictions for campers between the hours of  1800-0600 along the Parade at Minnis Bay, this applies to both side of the road. Parking is still allowed up the hill at the eastern end of the bay and onwards. If you can let your sailors know this, as many have parked along the front in recent years. 

There will be a fenced off area for boats and trailers on the green, please do not drive vehicles or park them in this area, boats only. The club house will be open for showers and toilets from Friday lunch time until the weekend is over, 24hrs a day for your use.

Our galley will be open for Pizza Friday night and breakfast, lunch and dinner Saturday also breakfast and lunch Sunday.

Please register by the 15th May to help with catering and planning.  Payment can be made  Friday evening or Saturday morning at the club house. Card payments can be made for registration and evening meals Saturday and bar purchases. The Galley during the day will be cash only.

For any non sailors, we are located on the Viking coastal route. The towers of the 7th century St Mary’s church at Reculver over see our sailing waters & are within walking distance or you can hire bikes locally.  The Turner Contemporary art gallery is located a few miles down the road at Margate harbour, or you could enjoy the rides at Dreamland vintage amusement park.
