UPDATE

Dear EIT Health InnoStars friends,

We have officially begun the summer school season with EIT Health and our Partners! The new website with all of new summer school opportunities is already live. This year EIT Health will offer 13 summer programmes and many more education options that will soon be presented in the InnoStars 2019 Campus Catalogue. InnoStars Partners will lead 7 Campus programmes and participate in 30 more. This is a perfect way to expand your professional skills this year!

We are active on the start-up scene. InnoStars submitted the highest number of start-ups to the 2019 European Health Catapult, more than any of the CLCs! Congratulations and thank you for your efforts in referring high potential start-ups to us.

We are all in the middle of the call process and we are now awaiting invitations to the hearings. InnoStars Partners are involved in 103 submitted proposals (56 Innovation, 7 Accelerator, 40 Campus) which is a healthy increase since last year. We are facing the challenge to increase our success rate further, especially in the Innovation Projects. This year, the projects benefited greatly from both the Stage 0 support and the local experts pool, which were very well received by the Partners. That said, we are constantly looking for ideas and partner feedback on how to improve the quality of the project ideas and applications. As ever we are always open to ideas and invite you to contact your Regional Managers with any suggestions. InnoStars is also looking forward to the Partners Assembly that will be held on 12 June in Budapest, where we will present and discuss strategies, plans and tactics to support organisational and ecosystem development. We will be more than happy to receive any suggestions or comments you may have around ways to boost innovation in our regions and the associated challenges.

Last but not least we are delighted to announce that, at the end of March, the EIT Jumpstarter received the 2019 European Association Award for the Best Association Training Initiative. This project is coordinated by a team from EIT Health InnoStars, EIT Food and EIT Raw Materials. This award clearly demonstrates that our mentoring and training programme for young, talented people from the health, food and raw materials industries has a real, positive impact and helps to develop the innovation ecosystem in Europe!

With best wishes,
Balazs Furjes | Managing Director EIT Health InnoStars
