Blessed Beltane!

So much of the spiritual work we focus on is of the Self--self-care, self-healing, self-worth, self-love, healing trauma, reconciling shadow...sometimes we forget to remind each other that we often do this work best in community. Some of us stay in our religions of origin, but many of us have drifted away from Church or Temple or other institutions that provide a built-in community. We may be disconnected from our neighborhoods. We find community a much more challenging part of our lives. Part of why I felt compelled to create circles of women and men, classes that start with sharing who we are and why we are here, is because community heals. Being in community helps us create our logical family when we have fallen away from our biological family. Community reflects the work we need to do on the self.

Whether we help a friend who is sick, or show up for a friend's project, or wander an open house with a cup of tea and make small talk, we can connect with others. Sometimes community shows us exactly where we are hookable, where our shadows are, or where we have unhealed wounds.  Watching Brene Brown's recent Netflix talk Daring Greatly, she says, "Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light."  Community gives us a place to explore our darkness. We hold space for others doing their work, and we do our work. It is a way to humanize shadow and share in burdens.  It is a way for us to do our self-work while still feeling loved and held. I've seen plenty of people cut and run in that scenario, but if you can stick and stay, not as Brene Brown says, "work your shit out on other people," you give yourself the gift of a heart family and a safe space.

Isolation and loneliness lead to our own sense of lostness--where do I fit in this world? We all have those moments of feeling lost and without a people. It is then I remind myself of my communities--of which I have many. Connection, for me, is the center of my lightwork.  As a healer, I came to this work because I attended a circle of like-minded people. I just showed up and found that there were people like me, and when I learned there were people like me, I could relax my shoulders and exhale and be me and do all that SELF work. But first I had to allow myself to be vulnerable and trust the power of circle.

One of the reasons I felt drawn to work at Alta View Wellness Center is because of the community. Sharon Muzio honors all our healers through the Spirit of Oneness Expo (first weekend in October). She brings together practitioners and readers. During that event, she raises money for a local non-profit. She creates events for the most amount of people to get the most healing and community for the lowest cost to them. She has done this through our Alta View Open Houses too.

Our next Open House is April 27th (yes, TOMORROW!). You can visit us for mini-sessions. All sessions are $25. I am holding a Collective Human Grid at 3pm. I still have space to align you to a massive crystal grid and do a chakra balancing while playing the bowls. Join me or if not check out the other practitioners offering events and readings and healings.

I wanted to share my offerings at Alta View for May. For me, self-care comes in many forms, and sometimes it is going to spend the day in a class or workshop that fills me up, sparks my interest, and excites me. I am passionate about what I do and I think that comes through my classes and workshops. So, if you are in need of some YOU-time, and finding ways to honor and love parts of you that don't always get expression in our very left-brained world, try one of my classes. These classes are always posted on my website under Events/Classes, and featured on Alta View Wellness Center’s website under Events/Calendar . Please call me with any questions at 717-770-9109.

For this Spring at Alta View Wellness Center, I wanted to offer some curriculum that follows different paths if you are interested in going deeper with me in my own areas of expertise. I am honored to have devoted so much time and energy to the study of the laying on of stones and the use of crystals and stones, plant medicine, and animal medicine in different healing modalities, as well as how to hold space, guide, and sit with people, help people get to the next level of their spiritual journey, shamanic journey, and tarot. With so many people popping up and offering classes, I think it is important to know that I have worked with the medicine on myself for a long time before I began teaching and offering circles. I have studied with experts and seers, medicine women and scholars. I take all that and weave it with the intuitive, native wisdom that lies within me.

Shamanic Journey is my way in. It is the way Spirit communicates to me for my personal work, and this class helps you connect with and explore shamanic journey as a personal spiritual tool for your spiritual work. This is a powerful class with lots of journeying.

I also added this class as a new class for me to share with you. I wanted to explore and share the wisdom of the Medicine Wheel with my students.

It helps me if you register early and let me know that you are coming.
