SUNDAY, APRIL 28 | SERVICE OF COMPLINE
This Sunday at 8 p.m., you are invited to join us for a quietly joyful Eastertide service of Compline. The candlelit service, lasting about twenty minutes, will be sung by the Chattanooga-area Compline choir In Spiritu, directed by John Wigal. The entire service will be sung in plainsong with scripture and anthem. Incense. This is a community-wide effort, all are welcome!
 

APRIL 30 - MAY 8 | HOW WE DO LIFE TOGETHER SERIES
Join St. Paul’s, Olivet Baptist, and St. Paul AME for our second small group series on Tuesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. from April 30–May 28. Led by the clergy of all three congregations, we will study, pray, and enjoy fellowship with one another. Contact Jane Bowen janehamptonbowen@yahoo.com with questions.

GREAT EXPECTATIONS LUNCHEON

Great Expectations is a monthly gathering for those 55 yrs and over for the purpose of fellowship and education. Each month, we meet for a time of socializing, lunch and a short program. This month: A representative from First Tennessee Bank will talk about estate planning, retirement budgeting, setting aside enough money, and social security concerns. MAY 5 - MAY 12 | FAMILY PROMISE MINISTRY
VOLUNTEER SIGN UP IS OPEN --- WE NEED YOU!
St. Paul’s hosts Family Promise, a ministry of hospitality to unhoused families with children, four times each year. Our next week of Family Promise is May 5-12, and there are several volunteer opportunities to support these families. You can help by cooking, greeting their arrival each evening, hosting activities, or staying overnight at the church. Go to http://signup.com/go/eNbWAES to sign up. MONDAY, MAY 6 | WOMEN'S NIGHT OUT
Our next St. Paul’s Women’s Night Out will be on May 6 at 6 p.m. Join the women of St. Paul’s for fun, fellowship, and a night out at State of Confusion/PumpHouse (301 East Main St). TUESDAY, MAY 7 | EfM OPEN HOUSE
Join our Education for Ministry group for an Open House on Tuesday, May 7, to see more about whether EfM might be for you! We’ll welcome interested guests on at 5:30 p.m. (room TBD), where we’ll model a regular meeting and also answer your questions about the program. Education for Ministry is a program of theological extension through the School of Theology, Sewanee. Through readings in Scripture, church history, and theology, and a theological reflection process, we seek to learn more about ourselves, the world, and God’s work among us. Email Fr. Join us on May 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (come and go) for a pay-as-you-can, community-building lunch with parishioners and community members. Pay a donation that fits your budget, or provide a donation to help someone else eat. Food provided in partnership with 2 Sons Kitchen.

MOTHER'S DAY + YOUTH SUNDAY

May 12 is Mother’s Day as well as St. Paul’s annual Youth Sunday! At the 10:30 Eucharist, Youth will serve as ushers, lectors, and more. We will also recognize high school seniors and Master Acolytes.

SATURDAY, MAY 18 | YOUNG ADULTS
CFC TAILGATE PARTY

Join St. Paul’s Young Adults at 6:00 p.m. at Finley Stadium to tailgate before the CFC’s match against Greenville! We will gather for fun and fellowship before the match starts at 7:30 p.m. Contact Kat Cantelou (k.cantelou@gmail.com) for more information.

SUNDAY, MAY 19 | COMMUNITY OUTREACH COUNCIL
After the 10:30 service, St. Paul’s Community Outreach Council will welcome Rachel Schulson, president of A Step Ahead Chattanooga, one of our Community Outreach Grants recipients. After the Council reports, Rachel will offer a brief presentation about their work in providing reproductive healthcare through longterm, reversible birth control in East Tennessee. GRADUATING THIS SPRING OR SUMMER? WE'D LIKE TO KNOW!
Let us know if you or someone in your household will be graduating from high school, college, or graduate study this spring or summer! TROTTER SCHOLARSHIP FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE
Through the blessings of the Scholarship Program honoring W. Henry and Charlotte L. Trotter, 122 awards have been made to students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate studies who have evidenced a commitment to community service. Scholarships will be awarded for the 2019-2020 academic year. Awards for post-secondary education are based on applicants meeting the requirements of community service. Deadline for applications: 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 31.  Applications are available here or by confidential contact to Claire Broome at cbroome@stpaulschatt.org.


MAY 31 - JUNE 2 | ST. PAUL'S ANNUAL PARISH RETREAT
Enjoy a weekend of fun, fellowship, and worship for all ages during our annual Parish Retreat at Kanuga Camp and Conference Center! Kanuga is located outside of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and it is a beautiful place to relax, recharge, and reconnect with God and others. Accommodations include individual rooms in a newly-renovated inn as well as historic cottages with multiple bedrooms. We hope you will join us for another wonderful retreat — what has become a cherished summer tradition at St. Paul’s! Space is limited, so please register as early as possible so you can join the fun and fellowship in Kanuga!

Activities focus on art, creative writing, music, drama and dance. All children who are entering Pre--K through 8th grade (Ages 4 – 13) are invited to participate in this wonderful week of art, movement, and music. Classes are conducted by local teachers. ($80)

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

The VBS theme this year is Roar! Life is Wild, God is Good. Get ready for an African adventure that engages the whole herd! Life is sometimes wild, but God is always good! ($30)
 
JUNE 17 - JUNE 21
SUMMER FUN CAMP

St. Paul’s Fun Camp is a week full of high energy games, arts, and crafts, and having a super fun time with your friends at church! Activities will include tie-dye, lots of sports and games. Join us for Fun Camp! ($50)
