Shalom, from Messiah Echad!

As Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread come to a close, admit it… you slipped up this week, and ate some bread, didn’t you!? It’s okay; not that we can sin so that grace may abound (Romans 6:1), nor that those commandments have been abolished (Mathew 5:17), rather avoiding physical leaven is just of surface level importance. Rabbi Jonathan revealed the deeper matters, during a two part message, explaining how God wants us to Remove Sin and puffed up behaviors, make daily Sacrifices, know when to Flee in Haste, and Remember The Past. Rabbi also taught a timely, relevant Torah portion Summarizing Kosher, and why it still matters. The Scriptures contain much more meaning than you might see at first glance.

This Saturday (27 April) is monthly oneg but no need to bring a biblically kosher dish to pass; we are ordering pizza to break our fast from leavened bread, though if you want to bring a dessert or gluten free dish, by all means. The Red Poppy Festival is also this weekend, downtown. Then right around the corner is Cinco De Mayo (05 May), on which Rabbi invites you to purchase a good book and gift it to your Spanish speaking friends. Mother’s Day is not too long after that, so make sure to honor mothers that day, and bring them to Shabbat Service to receive their flower. And lastly, May will close with another monthly oneg, as well as Memorial Day, when we honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, so we may worship freely.

Now is the time to study the deeper meanings of Scripture, in a fellowship of Messiah-minded believers, who are living our faith as Echad (one).
