PITTSBURGH MARATHON WEEKEND

Get ready to move! The annual Dick's Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon and UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon return this weekend, with activities Friday, May 3 - Sunday, May 5.

The weekend begins with the GNC Live Well Health and Wellness Expo at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Free and open to the public, it's one of the largest health and fitness expos in the country. Products, goods, services, entertainment, and more will be featured.

Race events begin Saturday with the 5k Run, Toddler Trot, Kids Marathon, and Pet Walk. Then, on Sunday, the Pittsburgh Marathon and Half Marathon begin at 7:05 a.m., with a Finish Line Festival at Point State Park from 7:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Downtown visitors, residents, and workers should be aware of road closures that begin on Friday, May 3 starting at 12:00 p.m. and continue through the weekend. Visit the official event website for details on getting around town, drivers' & cyclists' guides, and parking information

Our friends at NEXTPittsburgh have a guide on how you can join the fun of Marathon weekend, even if you're not running the 26.2 miles.
