Inspiration Dissemination

Featuring OSU graduate students and their work Sunday nights at 6 p.m. on FM 88.7 KBVR or streaming at http://www.orangemedianetwork.com/kbvr_fm/. This Sunday is Zoe Alley, Psychology. Out of the Darkness: Campus walk to prevent suicide. The Oregon State University Out of the Darkness Campus Walk will feature a resource fair, speakers, honor bead ceremony and campus walk.This event is a collaboration with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. This event is open to all. Check out afsp.org/OregonState for more info and to register for the walk. Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Student Experience Center Plaza (SEC Plaza), Plaza.

OSU's 64th annual Lu'au Presented by Hui O Hawaii. This year's Lu'au, Ku'u Home Aloha, takes place Saturday, April 27, 5 to 8 p.m. in the La Sells Stewart Center. There will be 17 dances showcasing Hawaiian and Tahitian cultures. Tickets are available at the SEC welcome desk or online. $5 for student tickets and $10 for general admission.

2019 Authors and Editors Recognition. Join the Center for the Humanities for a night of readings, discussion and reception focusing on fiction and poetry by OSU authors at the 2019 Authors and Editors Recognition. On April 30, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., featured authors include David Biespiel for his book The Education of a Young Poet, Nick Dybek for his book The Verdun Affair, John Larison for his book Whiskey When We’re Dry, Elizabeth Sheehan for her book Modernism a la Mode: Fashion at the Ends of Literature and Megan Ward for her book Seeming Human: Artificial Intelligence and Victorian Realist Character.

Bridge Walks. Walk, talk and win! Join RecSports on a weekly Bridge Walk to support mental health. The path is an accessible 2.8 mile out and back path to the covered bridge. Giveaways and a prize raffle at each walk! Meet in front of the Women’s Building at 4 p.m. for 45 minutes of fresh air and good company. Rain or shine! Tuesday, May 7, 4 to 5 p.m.

Academic Integrity Symposium. Learn practical and efficient methods of preventing academic misconduct in the classroom. All professors, instructional faculty and graduate teaching assistants are invited to attend. 8 a.m. to noon on May 10, 2019, Memorial Union Horizon Room and online. Includes breakfast.

Mental Health First Aid. Mental Health First Aid is an eight-hour course that teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, May 24. Preregistration required. Space is limited. Lunch will be provided.
