Yoko OK is the solo project of Yoko Oji Kikuchi. Yoko is a NYC-to-Bay transplant, language student, songwriter and basement dweller. Growing up in New York, she performed and toured with a professional children's chorus, and at age 13 she fell in love with lady-fronted rock bands, punk music, and playing the guitar. From 2004-2009 she co-fronted the NYC-based band Dream Bitches; from 2012-2017 she performed in and toured with the Oakland death rock band Bitter Fruit.
Immediacy, her fifth "solo" album (or the band's debut), is about recovery and the breaking of destructive cycles, uncertainty, solidarity, the romance of friendship, and growing up.
& Elspeth Anne has been active as a musician since 2005, performing and recording as a solo artist and band leader of Milkteeth, Twitch & Shout and current band Cabin Music. She self-released a handful of EPs before putting out a full length solo album ‘Thieves Again’ with Woodland Recordings a few years back, which she has been touring around the UK & Europe. A second album is due for release in summer 2019, if she can work out how to mix it. Elspeth's sound is a combination of British folk-music traditions & alt country with a lot of riot grrrl influence.
