New Mental Health Gap Funding

We are excited to announce a new mental health subsidy, available to adults living with CF in WA, to provide more affordable access to clinical counselling support.

If you're struggling with mental health, we are now able to offer a $50 gap payment per session to subsidise a community-based psychologist, social worker or counsellor in your area. This is in addition to the subsidised sessions available through a GP Mental Health Care Plan and Medicare rebate.

For more information and to access this subsidy visit our website.

Kalydeco and Symdecko PBAC Announcement

We had some very exciting news that the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) have announced Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) funding for Kalydeco (people aged 12-24 months) and Symdecko (ages 12+).

This exciting development means that more Australians living with CF will be able to access these effective CFTR modulator drugs, and will help pave the way for access to future treatments.

For more information visit the PBS website.

Parents and Carers Short Film Survey

We are developing a series of short films for carers of people with CF, similar to our recent CF Talk films.

We want to ensure that the topics are relevant and appropriate for you. We would greatly appreciate some feedback from carers in the CF community.

You can provide feedback with a five question anonymous survey here.

John Curtin Leadership Academy

CFWA were one of the lucky charities recently selected to participate in the John Curtin Leadership Academy program for 2019. Each group of students participating in the program select a charity to partner with over the year, helping to raise awareness and funds in the community.

This year’s group of dedicated students who chose to work with CFWA are taking on a number of activities out in the community. Including an Easter Egg Hunt last weekend!

Follow the JCLA Facebook page to keep updated on their activities.
