LAST DAY TO DONATE TUESDAY, APRIL 30
Gently Used Athletic Equipment Drive Pay It Forward - Play It Forward!
Lutz Prep is collecting gently used sporting equipment to give to the children in various programs around Tampa Bay. Collection boxes are in the front lobby and in the Media Center.
For example, we will be taking baseball bats, helmets, gloves, tennis rackets, skates, frisbees, shin guards, balls, etc. All items must be in good condition. This Play It Forward drive will run through Tuesday, April 30th.
As we begin another multi grade testing week we want to remind you of some good tips to help your student have a successful week.
Get a good night’s sleep
Eat a healthy breakfast before coming to school
Arrive to school ON TIME! Tardiness will affect your child’s testing schedule
Avoid scheduling appointments during the school day; limiting tardies and early sign outs
Reminder: Absolutely NO electronics allowed during testing (cell phones, smart watch/wrist phones, etc.)
Help reinforce academic integrity and that this is a snapshot of your child’s progress
Encourage them to do their best and not stress
Florida Standards Assessment Portal
The FSA portal is your source for information about the Florida Standards Assessments.
Florida’s K-12 assessment system measures students’ achievement of Florida’s education standards, which were developed and implemented to ensure that all students graduate from high school ready for success in college, career, and life. Assessment supports instruction and student learning, and test results help Florida’s educational leadership and stakeholders determine whether the goals of the education system are being met. Please click HEREto visit the Florida Department of Education FSA Portal.
Below you will find tentative testing dates for the grade levels and their respective assessments. Please be aware that these dates are provided within testing “windows”, and they can change based on various factors. State and district changes, unforeseen technology issues, and internal scheduling at Lutz Prep all can play a factor in altering testing dates and times. While we make every attempt to communicate with families, teachers, and our students in order to be best prepared, we appreciate your flexibility and patience during this time. In addition, please note that during testing windows, we will be a ‘closed campus’ and no volunteering is available on campus.

TCAL End of Year Sports Celebration
To celebrate another wonderful year of Tampa Charter Athletics Competitive Sports Teams at Lutz Prep, we will be hosting our end of year TCAL Sports Celebration on Thursday, May 16th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in our gymnasium. Doors will open at 5:30 PM and food will promptly be served at 6:00 PM.
This year’s party will include a pizza dinner, awards for the athletes, and an opportunity for everyone to celebrate their accomplishments together. The party will be FREE to any competitive athlete or child under 3 and $5.00 for any other guests wishing to attend. We also ask to limit your TOTAL number of attendees to four so we can accommodate all that wish to attend.
During the party we will be serving cheese and pepperoni pizza, salad, cake, and water as our dinner and drink. (Our beverages are very limited due to possible damage to our gym floors and therefore water will be our only selection.) We also hope to have all coaches present to give a brief recap of the year and take pictures with the athletes after their awards presentation. Please have your children wear their LP Spirit Shirts if they own one.
If you or your child wishes to attend the celebration, you must sign up and pay for guests via our school store by clicking HERE. Make sure to list all attendees so we can plan appropriately. Your RSVP and payment for guests is due NO LATER than Friday, May 3rdso we have time to order all items necessary to make this event a success.
Thank you parents for allowing your student athlete(s) to participate in our TCAL Competitive Sports Teams in the 2018-19 school year. We could not do this without your support!
