Red Carpet Recap

We were overwhelmed and so richly blessed by the outpouring of support that you all showed for Camp Deer Run at our Red Carpet Event. The title of the movie, Never Run Dry, truly summed up the night for us. God never fails to pour out his blessings on us, as long as we are focused on Him. The night of the premiere was just a continuation of the long line of blessings that God has provided for Camp Deer Run. We are so thankful for everyone who came. It was incredible to see the whole theater packed to the brim with Deer Runners, young and old, rookies and veterans alike. 

To everyone who helped make this event such a great success, thank you. Over 300 people were in attendance for the night of the premiere. It was, as always, a powerful reminder of the unity of Christ to see so many brothers and sisters brought together by this little old camp out in the big woods. After the movie ended, it meant so much to hear Gwen Bristow, wife of our late founder Benny Bristow, speak about Camp Deer Run to the audience. It was moving to see how grateful she was that her and her husband’s work had been continued by so many people to this day, and how amazed she was at what God had done through the little camp they created. God uses the lowly things of this world to display his glory, and he has certainly done that with Camp Deer Run.

Thank you for your continued support of Camp Deer Run, for making relationships and memories like these possible, and for stewarding the good news of Jesus to generation after generation of Deer Runners. We are so blessed to be partnered with you in this ministry.

Pass the Torch 2019

Pass the Torch is a special event to kick off the summer by encouraging our college-aged summer staff members in the mission they’re about to begin. Alumni, parents, and Camp Deer Run supporters are all invited to come and spend the evening playing friendly games, sharing a meal, and imparting words of wisdom with our staff. The job they do is probably the most fun and spiritually uplifting but also exhausting jobs they’ll ever have. Those who have worked in summers past have experienced it all, and looking back on their time, they have plenty of advice to share. This is a time when our summer staff get the opportunity to learn from all of these collective years of wisdom and to be inspired by the stories of God at work through Camp Deer Run. Everyone will also have a chance to walk through the new Mess Hall and check out all the progress! We hope you’ll join us for this fun and encouraging evening.  Attendance is free, and dinner is included for everyone! The event will be completely funded by donations.
