Our Vision: Inspiring and Uplifting Every One of Us to Transform the World!
Volume 19, Issue 5 A -- May 1, 2019

From my Heart

Rev. Jyoti

May is filled with opportunity and blessings:
  • May you be blessed!
  • May you be happy and grateful!
  • May you be prosperous!
  • May you have work and people that you love!
  • May all that you plant, in your garden and in your mind, blossom beautifully!
  • May you be filled with compassion for yourself and others!
Last month I had the opportunity for a wonderful several-day solitary retreat, and what a blessing it was.  I was at Joyful Journeys Hot Springs in Moffat, Colorado – a delightful place that has tipis, yurts, ‘regular’ hotel rooms, great hot springs, healthy food, and an amazing labyrinth that I walked over and over and over, even though it was quite chilly.  When we take time to restore our souls, whether in a get-away retreat or in our daily spiritual practice, life gets easier, colors are brighter, and possibilities expand.  I encourage you to take good care of yourself – you deserve it and will be able to be more creative, be of greater service, and have greater patience and compassion for yourself and others.

Our theme for May is compassion. What IS compassion, anyway, especially in this day and age and social environment? Where does compassion show up in your life?  Are you compassionate toward yourself, or does everyone else always come first? Are you patient enough to be compassionate with others? Are there areas of your life where you want to express more compassion?  What keeps you from doing so?  Come and experience and explore compassion on Sunday mornings with us!

Affirmation:
I move through my world with compassion, grace, and gratitude!

Third Thursday Spiritual Forum:

Greater Peace via the Enneagram

Thursday, May 16; 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Center for Spiritual Living  Boulder Valley

The enneagram is a powerful and dynamic system that describes nine fundamentally different personality types, defined as patterns of believing, thinking, feeling, and acting. (“Ennea” is Greek for nine.) These nine distinct patterns describe what individuals typically pay attention to, how they direct their energy, what underlying spiritual beliefs they tend to develop, and how childhood perception of “threats” or fears provided an unconscious impetus for shaping spiritual values and morality. Each person has a dominant personality type, with some of the characteristics of other types. Learning the enneagram will enhance your ability to understand personal dynamics – your own and that of others. It will immediately help you improve relationships and communication. It will expand your repertoire of responses, and help you consider new values when problem solving and setting priorities. The enneagram provides a greater understanding of yourself and your basic beliefs, promoting freedom, compassion, joy and peace. For more information, see www.enneagramworldwide.com and www.eclecticenergies.com.

The Spiritually Guided Social Uplift Ministry approaches the issues of the day with a spiritual focus that transcends the polarizing political agenda that often discourages thoughtful discussion of important issues. This is a powerful curriculum and the CSLBV discussions will be facilitated by Reverend Jyoti and Practitioner Kelly Robbins. You can contact them for more information. Or, click here to visit the SUM website

The S.U.M. discussions are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The discussion on May 22 is the first of two devoted to the topic of Religious Diversity and Inclusion. Come and share your thoughts. To help in planning, you are asked to register: click here to register for Session #3
