With just under a month left until the start of the World Series of Poker, I'm counting down until liftoff to Las Vegas. I'll be there from May 29-June 7.

In April we put out five new episodes of the Red Chip Poker Podcast, as I interviewed a half dozen more fascinating individuals from the poker world, including: Jack Effel, John Curry, Eli Elezra, Barry Carter, Dara O'Kearney, and James Hartigan.
From authors to players to broadcasters to media folk and tournament officials, it's an eclectic cast of poker's finest characters to have had the pleasure of interacting with.

Bruce Briggs and I cranked out another three episodes of the Top Pair Home Game Poker Podcast as well. In one episode, we spoke to listener Jim Donahue, who wrote a pair of books on a couple interesting poker variants, SOHE and Dramaha. Another episode delved into mixed games along with me giving a recap of my trip to EPT Sochi.
Finally, we spoke with poker legend Eli Elezra and he revealed how much he won in a Beverly Hills home game before Gabe Kaplan, Tobey Maguire, and Leonardo di Caprio politely told him "we don't need TV poker pros in our game anymore." Plus he shares his plans for the upcoming WSOP and much more...

ROBBIE IN THE NEWS
This past month, I had the honor of being the recipient of the prestigious 2018 Global Poker Award for having run the Charitable Initiative of the Year; my Running Well campaign to benefit Save a Child's Heart. I was unable to be present at the ceremony in Las Vegas, but I wrote an acceptance speech and recorded it on video in this blog post. I remain truly humbled and grateful for the honor.
Also, I had the pleasure of being a guest on Steve Fredlund's Rec Poker Podcast. Our 45-minute conversation flew by as Steve, Chad McVean, and John Somsky peppered me with questions about my career in the poker world and the various projects I've been involved with over the years.
I don't imagine too many of you guys are regular readers of the Dispatch, out in Columbus, Ohio, but there's one recent article in particular you might want to check out when you have a few moments (I might have been mentioned 😉).
Lastly, I was one of a number of panelists asked by Dutch site Pokeren.nl for my opinion re: whether tournaments are paying out too many players nowadays (my answer is posted in English, otherwise Google Translate is your friend). Can you guess my thoughts on this issue?

As the translator of Eli's autobiography, Pulling the Trigger, I will be there to introduce him.
