Call for Nominations for Hayhurst PTA Officer-Elect Positions

This is a call for nominations for the 2019/2020 Hayhurst PTA officer-elect positions.

In order to have a PTA, there are three official required officer positions which are elected (President, Treasurer, Secretary). We have nominees for these three positions (THANK YOU).

The two officer-elect positions--President-elect and Treasurer-elect--are elected by the PTA and are still open.

People in officer-elect positions will be learning about the position next year, and working alongside the current president and treasurer, respectively, with the idea of taking over/running for the position the following year. While we can have a PTA without filling these positions, it is recommended that we do fill them.

Specifically, our treasurer will be completing her term and retiring from the position at the end of next year. It will be best for the continuity of the position if we had someone in the Treasurer-elect position, shadowing the treasurer next year.

If you are interested in one of these position (or in any volunteer opportunity at the school, really), please email connect@hayhurstpta.org.

Thank you for your support of our PTA,
Orit Ofri for the Nominating Committee

Call for Volunteers: Hayhurst Spring Book Fair (May 20-24)

The Scholastic Book Fairs raise funds for our school library. We are fortunate to have a supportive community participating in every fair, buying books and fun items for the kids.

We need lots of help to make the Spring Book Fair work! Lou, the Hayhurst parent alumni who’s been helping us with the fair, is not available this time, so if you can help, please do!

The Fair runs from May 20th-24th with set-up on Friday, May 17th and packing up on the afternoon of May 24th. Specifically, we’ll need extra help with the cash registers this time.

If you’re available to help with prep work, we need someone starting just about now. This will be once a week for an hour or more to help with the pre-fair stuff like putting up posters, getting the fliers ready to go home, etc.

If you can help, please get in touch with Laura Jones at the Hayhurst Library (503-916-6300 x70512).

This Week Is the Last Week for Intramurals + Make Up Class May 9th

This is a reminder that this is our last week of intramurals.

We will have a makeup intramural for all grade levels in Thursday, May 9th from 2:15-3:15 PM.

It was a fun year for all! Thanks for joining us!

Quick Request: “Sisters of the Road Cafe” Chinook Book Coupon

Quick request, for anyone who is not going to redeem the “sisters of the road cafe” coupon from their Chinook Book, I’d be happy to take it off your hands.

I regularly see homeless people downtown and will happily gift them upon any person I see in my travels.

Better to put it to use, than to just recycle it in October.

Thank you in advance,
Stanton Fisque
