This is a quick version of Youth Update for May. It's a very busy term coming up and I realised that I should have advertised our Evangelism training evening earlier - it's a bit short notice, sorry about that!

Evangelism with Children and Young People

Free Training / resourcing evening

The Old Palace, Worcester Wed May 8th | 7:30pm - 9:00pm

(refreshments available from 7pm)

Come and join our ALM children and youth trainees for an inspiring evening looking at how evangelism with children and young people. The evening will include:

learning from current research into sharing faith with children and young people
events and resources for evangelism with children and young people
how do we encourage young people in peer evangelism?
information about the Evangelism Academy
hear about funding available from the youth evangelism fund.

Sports as a Tool for Mission and Evangelism

86.4% of children* and 61% of Adults** are regularly and actively involved in sports participation. With such large engagement levels, is sports something that the church can afford not to engage with? A conversation around sports as a tool for mission and engagement should be initiated and to get the ‘ball rolling’ we would invite you to answer these questions, by following the link, to help gather ideas, appetites and attitudes towards sports within our diocese:

Midlands Youth Conference

6th July | 11am - 8:30pm | Life Central Church
Halesowen | £5 | School Years 7-13

This is going to be a truly unique conference that’s geared towards young people, to help them to encounter Jesus, be equipped and grow in their Christian faith.

The day is designed to give young people a greater confidence in the gospel and to equip them to be effective in evangelism. It will be packed with inspirational speakers, breakout sessions, awesome worship, exciting youth activities and lots of fun. Your young people won’t want to miss out on this day!

Well done to those who managed to book your groups in before the April deadline - we've got about 180 booked in so far. Don't panic though if you still need to book, there's still time!

Volunteer team needed

We are looking for some adult volunteers who could give some time over all or part of the Spree Weekend (12th-14th July). Could you help with:

praying for and prayer-walking the camp
helping to run activities such as laser tag, grass sledging, go-karting, silent disco, movie night or perhaps the prayer or craft space.
washing up, or helping to feed our team.

We can offer accommodation on site if needed, or it might be that one of your group volunteers could help out in some way? Please be in touch if you think you can help.
