Shane and Ellen Ottens have seen their four boys go through their fair share of bumps, bruises and broken bones over the years. But, nothing prepared them for the diagnosis their son, Spencer, would receive in the fall of 2017.
Spencer had a tumour in his head that covered half of his face. It was not the news any parent wants to hear.
Shortly after diagnosis, Spencer would undergo minimally invasive surgery to remove the tumour through his nose.
Today, Ellen is grateful for the specialized care her son received at The Ottawa Hospital.
