Create a free video to promote your
Thy Kingdom Come
|
|
There is a new feature on the Thy Kingdom Come website to focus all our prayers for our local communities. ‘Light up the World’ will light up your local area on the national webpage when you register an event or pledge to pray. As more people commit to prayer, so more of the country will be lit up – showing the spread of prayer over our parishes, dioceses and nation.
It would be wonderful if our local parishes and communities pledge to pray and register on the website so that Derbyshire shows more and more light as we get closer to Thy Kingdom Come 2019.
Join Christ Church, Holloway, Matlock, who are one of many churches that has already registered their event and are a shining star on the Light Up The World website.
Below is a short ‘Light up the Peak District in Prayer' video and you can make your own, for free to share on social media channels and/or your website. There are also other free video templates for:
- Family Prayer Event
- Customised Prayer Event
- General Prayer Event
- 24-7 creative prayer event
- Family prayer map
More news and details will follow in the coming weeks about Thy Kingdom Come, but do start your preparations now and register your events on the Thy Kingdom Come website - together we can Light Up The Diocese of Derby and Light Up The World.

Bishop Libby's Installation Service Update
A reminder that Bishop Libby’s Installation Service is at 2.30 on Saturday, 25 May 2019 at Derby Cathedral.
This service will be a wonderfully joyous occasion of celebration and prayer as we welcome Bishop Libby. It is also a time for both Bishop Libby and the whole Diocese to renew their commitment as we inaugurate a new phase of ministry in the Diocese of Derby. The service will be signed, and will feature, among others, members of the Youth Council and representatives from all the deaneries and sector ministries from within the Diocese.
The service will see a number of special Church traditions followed: Bishop Libby will be anointed with oil, garlanded with flowers, presented with the Pastoral Staff and vested in the
Diocesan cope and mitre.
And, of course, she will be placed for the first time in the cathedra, or bishop’s seat, the symbolic place from where her ministry will be overseen.
It is an open service and so all are welcome to attend. Please be in your seats by 2pm.
Before the service, Bishop Libby will be walking through the city, meeting people of all faiths and none, accompanied by schoolchildren and celebratory flag bearers.

Accommodation Needed for South Korean Ordinands
There will be a group of South Korean Ordinands visiting the UK during July 2019 and the Diocese of Derby will be on their route from 11 - 15 July 2019. There will be 15 students and 3 supervisors. Bishop Libby would really like our Diocesan Church Community to host families for the students rather than booking them into a hotel. Please contact Pippa Rowan, Chaplain to the Bishop of Derby if you can help.
