Dear Friend,
Last week, in an historic vote, the Equality Act was referred to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. Now, as the House prepares to vote on this groundbreaking civil rights bill, we need people of faith like you to speak out.
Will you join people of faith in calling on Congress to pass the Equality Act and protect LGBTQ people from the injustice of discrimination?
As people of faith, we believe that LGBTQ people have sacred dignity and worth, that we should treat our LGBTQ neighbors as ourselves, and that all people should be able to live free from discrimination. The Equality Act would help translate these religious commitments into national law: providing consistent and explicit non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ people across key areas of life, including employment, housing, education, and public spaces and services. The full House of Representatives has never before voted on a LGBTQ non-discrimination this comprehensive.
That’s why, next week, people of faith are traveling to Congress to deliver a letter urging our representatives to pass the Equality Act. Thousands of people across the country have already added their names to the letter, and we need you to join us in telling Congress that people of faith strongly support protecting LGBTQ people from discrimination.
Add your name today to a letter from people of faith in support of the Equality Act and let your voice be heard.
