Indoor mould and dampness is a health concern that can be addressed under your Health Local Laws (Housing section) or under the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1911, S. 182 (4), S135, or S.139. EOI: On-site Wastewater Management Training The EHD is calling for expressions of interest from local government and other stakeholders to attend a three-day On-Site Wastewater Management Training Course. The course will run 16-18 July, 2019. See here for further information, including cost. Please register your interest by 28 June, 2019.
Fruit and Vegetable Survey The EHD, in partnership with local government, completed a survey during 2017-18 to monitor agricultural chemical residue levels on fresh fruit and vegetables. This survey forms part of routine surveillance under the WA Food Monitoring Program to monitor compliance by WA growers with the maximum residue limits permitted. See the survey results here.
CLAG Funding Submissions
Contiguous Local Authorities Group (CLAG) Funding Submissions are due Friday 19th July. The EHD's Medical Entomology team will be contacting all CLAGs with budget submission information in early June. If you would like to know more about the CLAG Funding Scheme, visit the WA Health website.
PathWest Water Examination Laboratory Form PathWest has released an electronic and printable version of the Waters Examination Laboratory Form for stakeholders requesting microbiological testing on water samples. Food and vitamin request forms are also available from the PathWest website.
Climate Health WA Inquiry A statutory Inquiry to investigate the implications of climate change on health, review the planning and response capacity of the health system and make recommendations for improvement, is underway. The Inquiry was a key priority of the Sustainable Health Review Final Report and recommendation of the Climate and Sustainability Forum.
Dog Health Program Dog Health Programs have a significant, positive impact on the health and well being of people living in Aboriginal communities. Benefits include reduced zoonotic disease transmission, hygiene and nuisance problems, and improved animal welfare.
