What's happening, Charlotte?

Have you had a chance to check out any Charlotte SHOUT! events yet? There’s a certain energy that it’s creating in the city. Many of these type of events were already taking place in Charlotte, but now they're getting the spotlight.

Seeing Uptown bustling for the past several days is promising. I enjoy people watching, and it’s cool to see the diversity of the residents participating. If there's a key learning from SHOUT!, it’s the need to have more opportunities to bring temporary public art installations and inclusive events to Center City.

Hope to catch you guys at some of the last events through Saturday!

Forecast: Waiting for rainy weekends to no longer be the norm. Another weekend to keep your umbrellas handy.

Charlotte SHOUT! (Now through Saturday) -- It's the final days of SHOUT! and they've kicked it up a notch. Get your cameras ready for art installations like "Prismatica" and "Constellation." BNS Productions presents August Wilson’s Jitney (Thursday through May 18) -- Catch the local production of "Jitney," a play about African American life and manhood set in 1977 in the Hill District of Pittsburgh.
End-To-End Festival (Fri. - Sat.) -- Kick off an immersive weekend of all things Camp North End with a free concert featuring local jazz musicians Quentin Talley and the Soul Providers with Hieroglyphic Being.
Carolina Energy vs. Carolina Aviators (Sat.) -- Football is still in season with arena football as the Energy try to keep their undefeated season going.
Charlotte SHOUT!: Soul Food Sessions Sweet Potato Dinner (Sat.) -- The "Founding Five" and guest chefs put their spin on six courses highlighting the sweet potato.
