Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia invites you to attend its 2019 AGM Wednesday May 29, 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Lecture Theatre, Forrerster Hall, NSCC Truro. The theme this year is Youth, Outmigration, and Climate Change. They will be announcing the 2019-2020 grants program.

Chebucto Links is pleased to invite you to its 24th Annual General Meeting at the Anglican Church of the Apostles on Thursday, 30 May. The business meeting will begin at 10:30 AM followed by entertainment from Tony Quinn (starting around 11: 15 AM), and a light luncheon. The NS Action Coalition for Community Wellbeing is hosting its 1st Annual Conference and AGM, June 7, 9:30 – 3:30PM at NSGEU, 255 John Savage Avenue, Dartmouth.
The Conference and AGM will build understanding of the purpose and benefits of the NSACCW. Participants will be invited to work to solidify and activate strategic political action plans to advocate for a variety of important issues affecting all Nova Scotians. FUNDING 
OPPORTUNITIES
The Department of Communities Culture and Heritage Community Food Literacy and Access Fund is now open for applications. This fund supports food literacy initiatives that help older adults share food and nutrition skills as well as knowledge with younger generations, and programs that improve access to affordable, healthy food for vulnerable older adults. The Centre for Aging and Brain Health Innovation (CABHI) has officially launched the 2019 Spark Program. Submit applications by July 5. Point of care staff can apply to receive up to $50,000 (CAD) per project that can be used over 12 months to develop and refine early stage solutions or to adapt and test a commercially available solution in a senior care environment. Hike Nova Scotia is hosting its 2019 Hiking Summit, a celebration of hiking culture, at Western Shore in the District of Chester on May 24, 25 and 26. It's a great opportunity to enjoy nature as the weather is starting to warm up and mingle with like-minded hikers. Nova Scotia Quality of Life Survey
Check your mailbox for an opportunity to participate in the Nova Scotia Quality of Life Survey. Your participation will help ensure a unique Quality of Life Report is created for your region. The Canadian Academy of Geriatric Psychiatry (CAGP) and the Canadian Coalition for Senior' Mental Health (CCSMH) are seeking nominations for the new Seniors’ Mental Health Outstanding Care & Integrative Practice Award.
This award will recognize an individual, team, service or program that is leading outstanding seniors’ mental healthcare and integrative practice models. This could be interprofessional and interdisciplinary collaboration, integration of mental and physical health care, and/or support systems integration/navigation of older adults. Nominations are also open for CAGP/CCSMH Vision Award. The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) is accepting applications for its tenth SPARK training program until June 14th. SPARK stands for Supporting the Promotion of Activated Research and Knowledge training program and it helps participants who work, or volunteer, in the mental health or substance use and addiction fields apply techniques for moving ideas into practice. NSCC is now offering The Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification™ (RHFAC) Accessibility Assessor Training. Become an RHFAC professional and work to improve the accessibility of the built environment for people with disabilities.
