While grieving for the deceased sister Tilly that she never really knew, Agnes Evans finds her sister's Dungeons and Dragons notebook. In an attempt to understand who Tilly was, Agnes enlists a dungeon master to decipher the notebook. Directed by James Bell, "She Kills Monsters" jumps back and forth from the fantasy battles Tilly created, and real world demons that Agnes has yet to confront. Purchase tickets here

Congrats to the Junior Varsity Boys tennis team (pictured here) for winning the Benet Quad Tournament last weekend! 

Congrats to the Math Team for a stellar performance at the ICTM State Math Contest, including senior James Kennedy placed 3rd in the oral competition, and, together with junior Garrett Credi placed 9th in the Junior-Senior 2 person. A special shout-out to coach Kay Moran who is retiring after 15 years with the team. 

The Varsity Badminton Team took 2nd place at Sectionals last week! The following Huskies qualified for the state tournament at Eastern Illinois University: Halley Bergen, Emma Proctor, Maya Jamroz, Nelida Schalich, and Olivia Remington.

Junior Margaret Korinek has been selected to represent Oak Park as a National Youth Correspondent to the 2019 Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University. Margaret was chosen based on her academic accomplishments, and having demonstrated interests and excellence in journalism and media studies.

The members of Arbor West Neighbors would like to thank the Dudes Making a Difference for stepping up and shoveling snow for older adults in our community this past winter. Their efforts made a huge difference in the lives of several AWN members. A special thanks to senior Ben Manaugh for coordinating the club's efforts in addition to doing his own shoveling.
OPRF News
New summer hours, building closed on Fridays
Effective June 3 through July 26, the building will only be open to the public Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This will not affect Driver’s Education, Sports Camps, and the Summer Musical, which will all continue to operate as previously scheduled.

Become a Business Incubator volunteer mentor
The Business Incubator is looking for volunteer coaches, mentors, and more for the upcoming school year! Learn more about the roles here, and sign up by May 13.

Senior Sessions: Life After High School
The OPRFHS social workers invite seniors to attend sessions in the Student Activity Center on May 14 and May 21 during lunch periods to discuss topics such as how to access mental health services on campus, dealing with substance abuse, self care, and more. Lunch is provided. RSVP here.

Housing Forward Homeless Shelter Collection Drive
There are approximately 100 homeless students in Oak Park schools. Through Friday, May 17, donate travel-size toiletries, twin- and full-size sheets, and all types of clothing (sizes L and up) to Housing Forward. Collection bins and the full list of needed items are in the Student Activity Center and in room 212.

Applause! Flower Sale pick-up 
You may pick up orders on Friday, May 17, between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the south end of the student mall. Enter through the alley between the school and the parking garage. Avoid picking up between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. due to heavy foot traffic. 

Donate new of gently used shoes
Spring cleaning? Tau Gamma is partnering with Oak-Leyden Developmental Services to collect 2,500+ pairs of new or gently used shoes. A donation box will be available in the Student Activity Center through May 31.

Clothesline Project
The Clothesline Project is back at #oprfhs. Made up of t-shirts created by survivors of violence or in honor of someone who has experienced violence, the clothesline informs students of the fact that violence is a problem everywhere, but help is available, and there is a path to healing.
