"Planting seeds of Love"

Luke 10:27 (NIV) He answered, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and "Love your neighbor as yourself."

In one of our strategic meetings, I sat back in awe of just how many adults are trying so hard to reach our foster community. I thought of all of you who have stepped in. The hardworking social workers, mentors, casa, judges, attorneys, etc. I wondered; do these precious children know how many people are hoping for them, believing in them, praying for them, standing with them?

It reminded me of how often I forget that God is for us not against us.
(Romans 8:31)

In Psalms 68:5 (NIV) God expresses His care and concern;
 5. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

These children are not forgotten and neither are you! God cares more for you than you may comprehend and He cares more for these children than we ever could. That is why He has compelled each of us to get involved to reach them.

The million dollar question is how do we reach them? My personal thoughts on that are simple... Pray and just show up! The Lord will lead you as you walk by faith.

This generation needs adults willing to walk in integrity; to not become so consumed or wrapped up in the things of this world but to take a moment to invest their knowledge and love into others. This comes by sharing our gifts and talents, having a cup of coffee, or taking a few minutes out of our schedule to say hello. At times it may feel as if it’s going no where; but trust me, these small investments are life changing!! As believers, we are called to plant the seeds of love; it is up to God to cause them to grow (1 Corinthians 3:6-9).
His timing is not always as rapid as ours:

2Peter 3:8 (KJV)
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

I encourage you to be patient. My prayer is that one day we will see a beautiful, vibrant, colorful, fragrant garden on display from the seeds we plant today.

Galatians 6:9 (KJV) 9. And let us not be weary in well doing:for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

God is still on the move,
