Happy Friday!
I thought I'd use this week's email to fill you in on what we'll be teaching this term at our different ministries. As you'd know, each week this email includes the title and Bible passage of the upcoming lesson, but today I'll share with you themes for the term.
Kids' Arvo
We are running through a programme called "New ID." It runs through the basics of being a Christian. Prayer, bible reading, fellowship etc. We will be using it to call the kids to take their faith seriously and to challenge them to put their faith in Christ.
9am Kids' Church
PreK-K will be learning about the early church through the book of Acts. Aim: The children will learn how the Holy Spirit helped people as they spread the good news about Jesus all over the world.
1-2 will be also be looking at early church from the book of Acts. Aim: to help the children to understand that God gave the gift of his Holy Spirit to all who trust in Jesus to help them to live his way.
3-4 are doing a unit call Go and Tell from Matthew and Acts. Aim: To help the children understand the difference the resurrection and the gift of the Holy Spirit made in the lives of the early followers of Jesus as they sought to spread the good news about him.
5-6 are continuing to look at the life of Jesus. Aim: to tell the story of the Gospels as a reminder of who Jesus is and how his life and death shapes us as disciples.
11am Kids' Church
After kicking off with a lesson on Mum of the Bible, we will be studying the 7 signs (miracles) of Jesus in John's Gospel. Aim:
