Prayer Partners!
Let's being with an urgent request:
**URGENT*** - Today (Saturday) is the funeral for a high school student in our city named Logan, please pray for his family and friends. Pray for the service at 1:30pm (Julianna & I will be ministering in the service). Pray that the Lord would be working to being comfort and peace in the days, weeks, years and decades to come. We grieve with this family and those in our church that new this young man.
Some PRAISES:
- Baptism tomorrow Sunday May 12 - our first baptism as a church! We are thankful for the 6 that are being baptized (3 children & 3 adults). Would you pray for the Lord to give us a 20 minute break in weather to be able to make it to the beach. Those being baptized: Anna Merrell, Jack, Lily, Alex, Emma, Joey - please pray for them as they profess Jesus Christ publicly!
- Praise God also for the new people we are meeting on Sundays
- Praise God for the renewed financial support of our sending church (LifePark) and the South Carolina Baptist Convention - their financial gifts provide the foundation we need to say on our budget!
- Praise God for those individuals that faithfully give as attenders at DW and individuals that give as outside supports
- Thank the Lord for the two summer interns to start May 19 - thank you for praying!
Some REQUESTS:
1. Children's Minister Need - pray that the Lord would bring us the right person to fill this position. Our current Children's Minister, Alex Casale, has done a wonderful job and has set us up for success. She is getting married and moving to Wisconson in July. We will begin interviews in the next week.
2. Passion & Enthusiasm for sharing the Gospel! We want to see our familes, work-places, schools, neighborhoods changed because of Jesus! Specifically we could use more influence with folks in Wild Dunes, ask the Lord to open the 'gates' so we can make connections.
3. Devoted Summer Challenge - This summer we will have a fun and engaging summer plan/challenge to help our faith family be more passionate about spending time with Jesus through out the week. Our desire is that our church family would embrace a personal responsibility for their spiritual growth.
4. The Leadership Team that meets on Monday mornings and gives guidance in important areas - thank you for praying for our May 6 Leadership Retreat! Pray for the team as we continue to pray, plan and set out vision for the church.
5. Worship services (5pm Sundays) would be full of the Holy Spirit's freedom & power. Lift up the preaching of the Word, music, prayers, those who are speaking and other elements of the worship gathering.
*Currently our worship space is large enough, but we anticipate needing to look into a larger space in the near future because of worship service growth and more so outgrowing the current children's area.
