Family Night Out is this Wed., May 15 at MOD Pizza and Menchie's
Our May Family Night Out is a double header at MOD Pizza and Menchies frozen yogurt. MOD Pizza Family Night Out will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 2071 West Millbrook Rd, Suite 103 (at the intersection of Millbrook and Creedmoor roads). Menchie's will be from noon to 9 p.m. Come eat dinner and dessert with your fellow Hawks and benefit our school, too! Show MOD Pizza this flyer and at Menchies show or tell this flyer, and a percentage of sales will come back to our school.

Hilburn Academy 5th graders went on their annual field trip to Washington, D.C. May 8-10. Students, Assistant Principal Smith, 5th grade teachers Ms. Grace, Ms. Crockett, Ms. Bendixsen and Ms. Rattinger, and parent chaperones visited sites including the Smithsonian museums, National Zoo, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Veterans Memorial Wall, Arlington National Cemetery, the Newseum, Lincoln Memorial, Pentagon, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and toured the U.S. Capitol. Hilburn 25th Anniversary Committee Meeting Friday
Join Hilburn Academy teachers, staff and parents on the Hilburn Academy 25th Anniversary Committee! Our next meeting is at 3:30 p.m. this Friday, May 17.
We are working on plans to celebrate Hilburn's anniversary during the 2019-2020 school year! We want the whole Hawk community, past and present, to be involved.

All-School Field Day on May 22!
First Annual Hilburn All School Field Day: Hilburn Academy will hold it's first All School Field Day on Wednesday, May 22. Students in all grades will participate in this exciting day! Mr. Falkey and Mr. Mott have been planning the day all year. Middle school students have been organizing games and activities. The Schedule is as follows: Grades K-2 from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.; grades 3-5 from 10:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.; and grades 6-8 from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help make this day a success. Rising 6th grade parents take note
Rising 6th grade parents, once our students are in Middle School, there are no longer room parents in classrooms. However, our PTA Board reps for Middle School will be sending a weekly email similar to what you received when your students were in elementary school, with teacher updates. Thank you Box Tops collectors! Your work has given $833 to Hilburn this year so far. Box Tops are still valuable. Every clip is worth 10 cents which seems tiny, but they add up fast with your help. If you buy BOX TOPS items, just cut or tear off the complete BTFE clip and please put them in the HAWK in the LOBBY. The earnings go to straight to the school. You may have heard Box Tops are going digital, that is true starting in June, but all existing cardboard clips are still valuable. Just send them in and they will be processed.
