CHAVENAGE HOUSE & MISERDEN GARDENS
Chavenage is a wonderful Elizabethan house of mellow grey Cotswold stone and tiles which contains much of interest for the visitor.
An Elizabethan Jewel in a Cotswolds landscape. Only two families have owned this mellow stone house since the Dissolution of the Monasteries. There are many interesting rooms housing tapestries, fine furniture, pictures and relics of Cromwell’s period. We will have a very personal tour by a member of the family.
Miserden Gardens A magical Cotswold garden tucked away in glorious countryside which has spanned generations since 17th century. The garden includes a yew walk designed by Lutyens, a double 92 metre mixed border, which contain a wide range of roses, clematis, shrubs and herbaceous plants, plus some new features celebrating the Millennium.
Miserden was awarded the Historic Houses Christies garden award in 2018 and voted one of the 10 most romantic gardens in the world. In June the gardens should be looking wonderful.
