Roadrunner Speaks Vol 6.4

Hoooo-weee! Things are really cooking now!  We've signed our land-use contract and are working on the necessary permits with the county, regular ticket sales are sold out, and portos are being reserved (that's when you really know shit is getting real).

And so the countdown begins - 52 days to gate!

Round 2 of Art Grant application ends THIS WEEK, May 15!

We still want to see your Art at SunBurn! Art Registration for large scale art, art which requires infrastructure resources, or art that needs to be placed outside of your camp closes June 29th, as late as possible to accommodate as much art as possible! Please don't wait for this deadline - tell us now to have the best chance of securing placement for your awesome stuff. The more inclusive and interactive, the better.  Art Grants are available to help offset development and transportation costs. All art registration and art grant application information can be found at:  www.nmsunburn.com/sunburn-art
You are also invited to help us construct art devices for SunBurn!

Our annual pre-burn art build parties, followed by the last Church Nights before SunBurn, will be May 18 and June 8, 2pm-12am, at LivLab Studios (420 Haines Ave. NW, ABQ).  Among our list of items to construct are SunBurn Department signs, event direction signs, and props to dress up the town.  This year's theme of Parallax inspires us to play with the differing perspectives of light & shadows.  Contribute your creative energy and clever ideas to help us bring that little ghost town alive!  We will be invoking shadow art as well as light projections, so come get in on the magic.
Wait...is SunBurn sold out??
Sooooooo... You didn't get a ticket during the Open Sale. We still have volunteer Direct Group Sale tickets available for folx who sign up for a minimum of 6 hour of volunteer time during the event.  All of your questions about ticketing and DGS can be answered here: http://nmsunburn.com/tickets/.  Otherwise, keep an eye out on our Facebook pages and groups for anyone needing to sell theirs. Note that you must allow time for a ticket transfer to take place, which will end on July 1, and not a moment later.

Be sure to read through all the juicy info under Tickets and Fine Print before you purchase: http://nmsunburn.com/info/

Vehicle camping passes remain suspended due to space constraints until we have placed major art and theme camps. Parking passes for vehicles that will live in the parking lot are still available. If your vehicle will live within the footprint of a REGISTERED THEME CAMP, contact your camp lead to ask about obtaining a code to purchase a Theme Camp Vehicle Pass. If you absolutely must have your vehicle with you and are not with a theme camp, please e-mail ticketing at ticketing@nmsunburn.com and explain your circumstances. We can discuss how best to accommodate you.
LOGO CONTEST!

Logo voting is still open until May 15th, and we're still looking for your feedback!  The voting form is set up as a ranking system, with 1 being least favorite and 7 being most favorite.  Click below to vote!
Huge thanks to everyone that submitted art work.

We still need volunteers for the May 25-26 work weekend!

We're still looking for about 10 people to come out and help in May (June work weekend needs will be TBD after we see how far we get.).  If you are interested, please register on the volunteer database, here.  Project details are listed there also.

For liability reasons, we need to be able to account for everyone present to work.  Please do not plan to just show up.  It will be hot, so the earlier we can get started, the better.  The goal would be to arrive between 8-8:30am, have a quick touch-base meeting 8:30-9:00am, start work at 9:00am, and work until 6:00pm (or sooner).

It is crucial that anyone who comes to a work weekend is prepared to, well, work.  The site is in no way conducive to open-toed shoes, so please plan accordingly; boots or steel-toes are preferable over sneakers.  Gloves, safety goggles, and sunscreen will be essential; hard hats will be helpful if you have one.  Tools and equipment will be provided, but if you have any you're willing to bring, please do! There will be shade but you'll need to bring your own water, hat, whatever you need to work outside in the sun, along with whatever you need for an overnight camp-out if you're planning on staying both days.

Theme Camp & Open Placement Registration are open until June 1.

The Theme Camp Registration form provides us with the information needed for SunBurn Placement to best - you guessed it - place registered theme camps and determine their footprint and needs. COMPLETE THIS FORM ONLY IF YOU ARE A THEME CAMP'S LEAD. Every theme camp amp needs a designated camp lead. Camp leads need to be someone that placement and other necessary leads (SOUND/LNT/ART DEPT) can communicate with directly, can coordinate with their team, and be available for set-up.
