Living on a ridge above a river affords us two special treats. Many birds love to soar here, whether over our highest hill catching thermals or enjoying the updrafts over the cliff face. Secondly, being close to the river, we can spy everything from ducks, geese, and cormorants, to bald eagles fishing for some lunch in the water. While the turkey vultures far outnumber the regal eagles, both are breathtaking to watch as they fly. Both have their purposes in God's design and they can't be surpassed for the free airshows they delight us with.
