WORLD OF 23
The other week, 69 Discordians got on a bus and went to various places including the underground temples of Damanhur, Carl Jung's garden and the CERN Large Hadron Collider to Immanentize the Eschaton.
They went to the 'very centre of the CERN collider (above ground!), which is the site of a ruined Appollonian temple' and performed a ritual which is videoed here.
They presented one of the physicists who are smashing protons together at energies which probably only existed very near the start of the Big Bang with a scale model of the Higgs Boson, contributed by Jimmy Cauty. See the pic below. CERN is clearly the ultimate temple of a certain kind of ultra-modernity, but the people that work there are pretty far out.
Pilgrims each got a copy of the Pilgrim's Guidebook, a magnificent piece of magic art to which I contributed a piece called 'Pilgrimage and Sacrifice', which may well appear in some other context one day.
Liverpool Arts Lab have a few copies of left over from a limited run of 100, available to buy here.
They also had an on-bus radio channel, Pilgrim Radio, which broadcast over the whole of the journey to anyone, not just the pilgrims. It was full of fine music and mad stories and interviews. I did an interview on connected breathwork for it. The link is dead at the moment, but at some stage they will be making these bits available again.
