Three Rivers Annual Meeting - May 8

"The Journey Back to Maine"
Members and friends are invited to join the trust at our office in Alfred (235 Swetts Bridge Road, corner of Kennebunk Road) on Wednesday, May 8th at 5:30 PM for a brief business meeting followed by a presentation by our new executive director, Cheri Brunault, on her journey back to Maine via the Appalachian Trail. All are welcome!

Five years ago, Three Rivers Land Trust's executive director, Cheri Brunault, got to Maine by walking. She hopped a train to Georgia and then hiked back on foot, covering all 2,185.9 miles of the Appalachian Trail, concluding with a climb of Mt. Katahdin. In her talk at this year's annual meeting, Cheri will share photos, stories, and lessons learned from the long walk home.

Become a "Maine Bird Atlas" Volunteer -  May 12

We're hosting a York County Audubon "Maine Bird Atlas" training at our office in Alfred (235 Swetts Bridge Road) on Sunday, May 12, from 9 AM to 1 PM. In 2018, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (DIFW) launched the “Maine Bird Atlas” – a new 5 year statewide project to document the birds that call Maine home.

Maine native Doug Hitchcox will lead this in-depth training, which will focus on how to document birds during the upcoming breeding season. It will involve an overview of the project including background and objectives, explain various ways to participate, and take hands-on look at how to use eBird (the database for collecting Maine Bird Atlas sightings).

Attendees will spend time indoors reviewing materials and procedures, then finish with a short walk outside to practice atlasing. We suggest dressing in layers as the temperature will vary throughout the day. Boots or waterproof footwear is recommended while we are outside. Snacks and drinks will be provided but please bring any additional food items you'll want.

This workshop is free but space is limited, so please click here to reach the registration page.
