Hello folks!
Irenie here, if any of you have forgotten that you gave me your email, I apologise, it's been a while. Far and few between seems to be the way I approach communication... Makes it less spammy! I like to look on the bright side. Feel free to unsubscribe too. I won't be offended. I'll just weep quietly.
I hope you're all really well and enjoying spring and the approaching summer.
I'm living back home on Lewis now for any who are unaware. Currently looking out the window at a breezy sunny view that stretches way out over the moor. It's quite nice. I'm late for a Gaelic class...
There is a new song called Workman's Way. Partly inspired by Mike Rowe's 'Dirty Jobs' series. You can listen to a sneak peak here and see if you think you'd like to obtain it.
I bought an audio interface so this is my first fruits.
Gary (my brother-in-law), Elsa (my sister) and I have formed a band! Hebridean Fire, as we're now all residents of the Isle of Lewis. We'll be playing Scottish Traditional music. It's pretty much fun and hilarity with 'musical interludes' as Phil Cunningham would say. We have recorded an album at Wee Studio in Stornoway and expect to have it launched at the Edinburgh Fringe. There'll be a Boiler Suit music video out before then... Watch this unusual space.
Elsa and I will be performing as the McTaggart Sisters, singing original compositions as a duet.
Elsa also has her own world of original music and song with an emphasis on storytelling from her own life supported splendidly by Gary. I am biased, but she's awesome!
She also performs an Eva Cassidy tribute which brings a sweet tear to every eye.
I'll be performing a Joan Baez tribute which I can only hope does her a small part of the credit her voice deserves.
