On behalf of the Reentry Roundtable Executive Committee, I’d like to share an upcoming training opportunity with you that may prove useful for communicating the value of your organization’s work around reentry issues:
On May 17th, One Voice Central Texas will present two communications trainings on reframing by Bridget Gavaghan, Director of the National Reframing Human Services Initiative.
Reframing refers to a specific evidence-based set of communication tools that can be utilized to build broader public support for mission-driven organizations (particularly those focused on health and human services) so that everyone in our community has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Reframing carefully considers how storytelling choices, such as the specific values invoked and the metaphors used, influence the public’s perceptions and responses to a particular issue. You will leave these sessions better equipped to integrate a new, more effective narrative into your communications strategies.

When: 8am-12pm (Level 1 training) and 1-4pm (Level II training) on Friday, May 17th

Cost: Each session will be $15 for One Voice members, $30 for non-members
