It's been wet to say the least. We're doing our best but the rain has made it very difficult. When the ground is finally dry enough for us to get out there with the tractors, we'll have a lot to catch up on for sure. We're very excited to be celebrating proms, graduations,  and showers for babies and brides with your families. While it's been a chilly start to spring, we're hopeful for some sunshine and warmer days ahead.
Your reception to the new Maple Valley Ice Cream has been phenomenal! Everyone is saying wonderful things about the flavors. Take one home or grab a spoon and enjoy out at the picnic tables!
Hey Neighbor!
On Friday May 3rd,Whittier Farms was thrilled to host a Neighborhood Potluck open to our neighbors  and our staff and their families. We welcomed an estimated 85 people for the evening and you should have seen the spread of food! There was mac and cheese, spinach pie, ribs, pulled pork, corn muffins, whoopie pies, meatballs, lobster bisque, cookies, brownies, apple crisp, salad, and so much more! The food was fantastic but so was the company. Our farm sits right in the western corner of Sutton and we have fields in Douglas and Oxford so it was great to bring together families from all three towns. We laughed about new neighbors who still have to introduce themselves as living in "so and so's old house," we cheered for the family who is welcoming their first child in October, and applauded the neighbor who's goal is to someday be the oldest Sutton resident as she is born and raised Suttonian. While it was chilly, we were able to enjoy the night while Mother Nature held the rain off until just after the potluck. We had such a great time, we look forward to hosting again! Thank you to all the neighbors and our staff who cooked and attended Friday night!

With graduation season upon us, if you need a helping hand for the celebration, give us a call at 508-865-1053. For a full menu, please see our website.
May began with excitement despite the cold weather as "A Sweet Romance" used our farm as a location for the independent Christmas film. The production team transformed our store front into a busy ice cream shop, actors were filmed with our cows, and our family was even invited to be extras in the film! Once the film is finished, a distribution company will work to get the movie out on tv or other media outlets for viewing. We're anxious for the opportunity to see it!
Award Winning!
We hate to repeat ourselves in our newsletter but leaving the Centennial Cheddar feature in for another month is an honor. On May 1st, the Specialty Food Association announced Cabot Creamery Cooperative's 5 Year Centennial Cheddar as the Best New Cow's Milk Product! This is the highest award Cabot can win for cheese and is equal to winning Best Picture at the Academy Awards. It is an honor for our farm, the other member farms, the cheese graders, and all of the staff at Cabot Creamery Cooperative. If you'd like to try the winning cheese, stop by our farm store for a block.
April and May are extremely busy months for schools tours here at the farm. Groups of all ages are welcomed at the farm. Interested in bringing your class or summer camp to the farm? Give us a call or send an email.
Your family can join us for a FREE Farm Tour on Thursday May 23, 2019. We're offering newsletter subscribers the opportunity to join us at 5pm for our farm tours. All other guests will be able to join at 6pm. If you'd like to join us at 5pm, please RSVP to reserve your spot by responding to our newsletter.
