Thank You!

I just want to take a moment to thank you for your support this year. With your help we were able to provide Easter baskets to the Armed Services YMCA Camp Pendleton's entire afterschool program, hospital child watch program, and in other programs. Thank you all for your support.

Leucadia Oaks park has a playground with swings and sand, picnic tables, a basketball court, and a small skateboard area. We will meet by the playground. RSVP to Kristen Beyer at kbeyer86@gmail.com.

Contribute to Rachel Wright

Our member, Rachel Wright, was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. Thank you for keeping Rachel and the Wright family in your prayers. To support Rachel and her family in the healing process, we have established a fund for those wishing to assist her. Go to http://www.stmarkchurch.net/ and click on the green "Giving" button at the top right of the page. From the drop-down menu, locate "Benevolence" and follow the prompts. Checks can be made out to St. Mark Lutheran Church and note “Benevolence” in the memo line. You may also sign up to provide meals for the Wright family during Rachel's treatment at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f044dafa929a57-dinner.

The Intersection of Church and State

Sunday Mornings @ 9 am

Join us for a Bible Study on “The Intersection of Church and State”, a study produced by Lutheran Hour Ministries. About: Religious freedom in America has been an issue of paramount importance since the founding of this great nation. As the nation has grown and changed, so has the relationship of the federal government with the many religions that comprise the community of faith throughout the land. This Bible study examines this vital relationship to see what’s working well and how we can improve the rough spots at the intersection of church and state.

May Mission of the Month Preview:
Community Resource Center (CRC) Clean-up
Sunday, May 19th @ 12:30 pm

Volunteers from St. Mark will be serving the community by cleaning up the interior and exterior of the Encinitas CRC location and checking expiration dates of food in the food store. We have received a Thrivent grant with “Live Generously” T-shirts, snacks and cleaning supplies. Last year we had good participation and the CRC was most appreciative of our efforts. No monetary donations are required, just bring your enthusiasm! A sign-up sheet with more details is available in the Welcome Center. Please contact Dave Kendall at aekdck@roadrunner.com for information.
