MAY NEWSLETTER 2018 - Nuachlitir Féadfaidh
SCOTTISH FLEADH: This was a very successful day for the branch. Well done to all the competitors! The first 3 qualify in each competition. All the results are available on Irish Minstrels Facebook. Also videos of all our bands and groups.
ALL-BRITAIN FLEADH: 28th - 30th June in Kirkby Lonsdale (Cumbria). Bands and groups start at 12.30pm on the Saturday. We have provisionally booked a bus to go down on the Saturday and back the same day. This is ideal for any young ones involved in bands, groups but not solos. It would also be a good experience for members of the U12C Grupa Cheoil to see what lies ahead for them. The cost is £30 per person. Anyone interested should see Moira Tuesday night.
CEILI AND DRESS-REHEARSAL: Sunday, 23rd June in St. Mary’s church hall, Pollokshaws, 7-9pm. This involves our qualifying groups and we expect everyone to attend.
PRACTICES: Woodfarm at 1pm for U12A, U12B, U15, U18A Grupa Cheoil. Also bands. May 11th, 18th; June 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd. Anyone who cannot attend a practice should let their tutor know and fill in the diary at the desk.
UILLEAN PIPES: Next Tuesday 14th Sheila Friel is coming to St. Roch’s to give a recital at 7.45pm. She will also say a bit about the instrument and we are hoping to get some interest within the branch. Sheila is one of the finest players around at present.
