Communications Changes

After nearly 11 years as Communications Director of the White Lake Citizens League, I have decided to retire from this function to be able to devote more time to an ever-increasing list of other activities and commitments.

Literally a few nights after I moved here in 2008, neighbors invited me to a WLCL Pizza Dinner at the White Lake Inn - my very first activity on the lake! (Remember how the power went out during the dinner? That should have been a warning to me about the electrical reliability here!)

Shortly thereafter, I was recruited to take over the newsletters, e-mail account, and website from George Lowe, who was moving south. Since that time I have sent out hundreds of e-newsletters, written thousands of lines of code for a redesigned website, started a new Facebook page, managed many Current Newsletters, taken hundreds of pictures for online photo albums, answered countless e-mails from you, and served on the Board of Directors. With Jack and Jeri Butler, Debi and I started the Annual Home Tour in 2010, and ran it for many years afterward.

Don't worry... I still plan to be actively involved in most of the WLCL's great activities during the year, and assist in the transition to new communicators. Linda Smallwood has agreed to take over the e-newsletters and Facebook page, and training is already well underway for this transition. We're still looking for someone with Web Development skills (HTML, SHTML, and CSS coding, FTP, etc.) to take over support (and even redesign?) of the website. Could this be you or someone you know?
