Three action points for this week!
1. Order your off field merchandise by Thursday
2. Nominate as a player (or coach) for the representative carnival by Thursday
3. Check the draw. It has been updated.

1. Order your merchandise
Orders for hoodies, long-sleeved training t-shirts and gear bags will close after training on Thursday. Miss out, and you'll have to wait until next year. We will not be holding stock and we will not be placing a second order in Season 2019.

Natalie will be at training tonight (Tuesday) at St Luke's, on Wednesday at Drummoyne Oval and Thursday again at St Luke's. Kids in the second sessions should see her BEFORE training.

Alternatively, you can check your sizing here: https://www.iscsport.com/size-charts and email Natalie with your order. Natalie will then let you know how to go about payment via direct debit.

Please note, this is discretionary merchandise. You don't have to buy it.
2. Nominate for the representative carnival in June.

This needs to be done by COB on Thursday. You must SELF NOMINATE for all Cannons age groups using this form.

(This form is for every player other than U10YG... nominations for U10YG are submitted by coaches)

The carnival will be held 8-9-10 June at Greenway Park West Hoxton. All youth girls teams play on Saturday 8 June. U13, U14, U15 and U17 play on Sunday 9 June and U12 (and junior grades U9-U11) on Monday 10 June.

AFL Sydney is also seeking coaches.Coaches are expected to host a trial for selection into teams as well as training sessions prior to the Carnival.

Coaches nominate here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7JCQTJ6

NOMINATIONS CLOSE THURSDAY AT COB. There is a cost of $125 per player to compete. Players receive shorts, socks, hoodie and participation medal.

The Cannons Board encourages anyone who wants to try out to do so.
3. Check the draw.

The draw has been updated to reflect the re-divisionalisation of some teams. There are some Cannons teams impacted directly - U12 Teal, U13 Orange and U14 Youth Girls Teal - but all teams should check in for any changes.
Want to umpire?
You may have seen on our socials that it was Community Umpiring Round over the weekend. If that has spurred you on to give umpiring a shot, there's good news! There will be a second intake of umpiring starting in the week of 24 June. Details and registration here: https://umpire.afl/ (Pic via AFL Sydney Juniors)

New on the blogs and the socials...

Congratulations to our junior club Drummoyne Power, who hosted an AFL Sydney Gala Day for children with disabilities on Sunday. It is a wonderful initiative that recognises that everyone should have the opportunity to play Aussie Rules. Drummoyne Power will be offering AFL sessions on Wednesday nights for children with disabilities. If you would like to be involved, or to be informed, please email Milan. And check out these wonderful pics from Drummoyne Power's Penny Langman here

Let's start the game roundup with our U18 Youth Girls. Every time these girls step out on the field, they give it their all. You've got this girls! Check this video on the Cannons girls Facebook (and go follow them on Facebook and Instagram).

U17 Cannons exploded in the first quarter, with a six goal burst in the game against Cronulla. While the rest of the game was more evenly matched, it was always going to be hard for the Sharks to reel it back in. See the pics on Facebook from Michelle. Well played, Cannons.

Our U16 Div 1 YG yside made it through the mid afternoon rain to take the field at Weldon in Manly. Missing a couple of players through injury, they fought hard against a fast linking Manly side but went down. The girls defended hard, especially in final term, and will bounce back this week.

U15 Cannons had a tough day at the office in wet and slippery conditions, but showed real spirit in their match against Pennant Hills. Gallery of photos by Michelle on Facebook.

Bravo to U14 Youth Girls Orange on the win over Maroubra Saints down at Heffron! Watch the team song.

In wet and slippery conditions, U14 Div 2 played intelligent and creative football. With our back line solid as a brick wall, and our midfield controlling the game, we were giving our forwards numerous opportunities, and they didn’t let their team mates down. Watch the team song and check out Sonia's wonderful pics.

A perfect four quarters of team work, spirit and great football saw the Cannons U13/1 stand up to the magpies with an impressive away win. Check out Natalie's gallery here.

U12 Orange  also had a pretty fabulous game. They had another crack at the team song after a strong win... you're almost there, boys!
