Dear SPARC Europe member,
SPARC Europe is working on representing your interests in achieving more Open Access, Open Science and Open Education.
We would like to inform you that 2 SPARC Europe Board positions will become vacant this year to join the Board in 2020. We would like to hereby invite you to nominate someone to the SPARC Europe Board to help us ensure we serve you efficiently.

A good geographical spread is important to us. The Board consists of 9 members representing Northern, Western, Eastern and Southern Europe.
We would like to have a member from the UK on our Board to tackle the challenges of the new status in Europe after Brexit.
We are also keen to have a strong Open Science (open/FAIR research data) advocate.
If you wish to see a scholarly communication system built on the principles of openness or if you would like to support making more progress in the areas of Open Science, including Open Access, and OER by serving on the Board for SPARC Europe, we’d very much like to hear from you. You can nominate yourself or a colleague by sending a short CV and cover letter briefly listing your motivations for becoming a SPARC Europe Board member and how you would like to contribute to SPARC Europe’s activities. Board Members serve a 3-year term with a possibility for re-election. They attend Board Meetings on an average of 3 times a year in Europe with 2 meetings face to face; travel costs and accommodation costs are borne by the member’s organisation.
