He is Amazing and we are getting ready for Amazing Encounters with Jesus! This summer Vacation Bible School (VBS) will start June 17th – June 21st.  We are recruiting volunteers to help and be a part of this amazing encounter. Everyone can participate, there are so many ways for you to help. Here is how; we need teachers, teacher assistants, set up / cleanup crews, a photographer, volunteers at large, financial assistance, and donations of prizes.

Like the message from our Pastor, here is your opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and do something you have never done before while developing a closer relationship with God. For further information please contact First lady Garrett or Deacon Boyd.

This awareness event is held throughout the month of May to coincide with the peak season for asthma & allergy sufferers. There is a higher incidence of asthma emergencies, hospitalizations and death in African Americans compared to Caucasians.  Both asthma and allergies can make you feel miserable. Understanding the similarities and differences between the two can help you learn to manage symptoms or potentially avoid them altogether.
Allergies: Our immune systems are designed to protect us from potentially harmful threats. Allergies occur when our immune systems react to something which is not a threat, whether it be a food item, pollen, dust, bug bite, medication, or something else. While the sniffling and sneezing from springtime allergies is most commonly associated with allergies, symptoms of allergies can manifest themselves in the lungs, sinuses, and skin.
Asthma is a chronic lung disease which can make breathing uncomfortable and difficult. Asthma can be associated with either an allergic or non-allergic reaction. Non-allergic asthma can be triggered by stress, medication, air temperature, smoke, and infections of the airway.
If you believe you are suffering from Asthma or Allergies contact your health provider, for treatments or over the counter medications.

When inquiring about Baby Dedications please contact the church secretary at the church office.

Agenda items for Council and Business meetings must be submitted One week before the meeting date. New agenda items are no longer accepted from the floor.

It is essential that all POC leadership responsible for any church programs or events, must complete a Church Event Form and deliver the form to the Church Secretary who will forward it to the Church Activity Director. This is important because Pastor insists that all POC associated activities are in line with our church values of being Consistent, Compassionate, and Committed. This is also important so that church resources and membership are effectively used to make our events and programs successful. Failure to submit the Church Event Form might result in an event being cancelled.

You may also write your prayer request and place it in the box in the vestibule our Prayer Warriors are ready, willing and able to assist you. ALL requests are kept confidential.
