Rising 6th, 7th and 8th grade camp
Any rising 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student who will be attending East Cobb Middle School in the Fall of 2019 is eligible to attend summer camp. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of learning experiences catered to their needs.
The cost of summer camp is FREE.
Dates: Monday - Thursday, June 3 - 6 and June 13th - 16th Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Get ready for the 8th grade Dance
ECMS 8th Grade Dance Celebration will be held May 21, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 through May 17 and $12 after. Come "Flamingle" and Limbo with your Hoa Kula in Paradise at our Hawaiian Luau. A signed permission slip is required for attendance.
Yearbooks are now $40
Yearbooks will soon be available for purchase at $40 per yearbook. Students should look to buy them in the cafeteria before school starts.
Annual 8th grade picnic
The annual 8th grade picnic is Monday, May 20th at 1:15PM. If weather cooperates, it will be held on the field behind our building.

2019 Honors Celebrations
Honors celebrations will take place during the last week of school. Invitations will come home May 15th and May 16th with students who will be receiving an award. All ceremonies will begin at 9:30AM in the theater; 6th grade on May 20, 2019, 7th grade on May 21, 2019, and 8th grade on May 22, 2019.
Annual End-of-Year Contest
It’s time for the annual End-Of-Year Contest to get all of the books returned to the Learning Commons!! Here’s how it works… The first two homerooms that return ALL of their books to the Learning Commons will receive a doughnut party and Mrs. F will do the homeroom teacher’s lunch duty of his/her choice!! The last day for the contest is Friday, May 10th!! If there are more than two homerooms with all of their books returned by Friday, May 10th, I will draw names for the winners! GOOD LUCK!!!

Is your child great at explaining math or science concepts? Want a chance to win a $250,000 scholarship? We’re proud to partner with the Breakthrough Junior Challenge video contest again this year. Students ages 13 through 18 are invited to create a short— under three minutes— video explaining a challenging concept in physics, mathematics, or the life sciences in an engaging, illuminating, and creative way.
In addition to awarding a $250,000 college scholarship to the winner, the Breakthrough Junior Challenge will give the winner’s teacher a $50,000 prize and the winner’s school a new $100,000 science lab.
