Dear MARINE Community,

A quick break from our regularly-scheduled content to ask for your help!

You are invited to take part in a research study conducted by Mark Carr and Joshua Smith from the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Meredith McPherson from Ocean Sciences at the University of California, Santa Cruz (Evaluation of a regional coalition of institutions for enhancing student participation in science-policy processes, HS3397). We are interested in learning about how MARINE has influenced your professional development and preparedness to engage in science-policy processes. Your participation in the short survey below will help inform future MARINE events and activities.

Participation in the following survey will take less than 20 minutes. If you choose to participate in the electronic survey, you will be entered into a drawing for a $20 Amazon gift card! If you also choose to participate in focus-group interviews (must complete electronic survey first), you will be entered into a separate drawing for a $20 Amazon gift card. The survey must be completed by Saturday May 11, 2019.

P.S. Last call to register for the Oceans Colloquium, happening this weekend at Moss Land Marine Labs. See relevant details below.

💕,
        Your MARINE Liaison Team

Moss Landing Marine Labs, 8272 Moss Landing Road, Moss Landing, CA 95039
Saturday, May 11, 9:30AM-4:30PM PST

Monterey Area Research Institutions' Network for Education (MARINE) is hosting its 10th Annual Oceans Colloquium. The event focuses on sharing ocean work across multiple perspectives, interests, and disciplines.  Join us for a day focused on #OceanOptimism or submit an abstract for one of two different formats (standard and lightning). Talks can discuss your current research, projects, outreach, or recent professional experiences.  We eagerly support talks which use non-traditional means of public speaking and encourage participants to present their work in engaging formats. More info on the website and the flier. Register to attend here and to submit an abstract here.
