What happened during the month of the Earth

April 2019 UPDATE

April is the month of the Earth and the PNW blossoming into spring is certainly a great place to appreciate the beauty of this planet!

WHAT'S NEW

COMMUNITY MINDED

Being involved with and serving the WS community has been central for us, which is why we have created a West Seattle Neighborhood Profile Guide to highlight some of their character and perks that make them so unique.

We also strive to share the stories of great WS businesses, non-profits and personalities through the platform of the Sea-Town Podcast. Going all the way back to our first episode in 2016, where I interviewed Frank Gross, owner of Thunder Road Guitars located right in the Alaska Junction (but soon to move to the Morgan Junction).

GYM TIME

I've been putting it off long enough. Time to get back into the gym and get back in shape.

At 40+ years old, I don't bounce back like I used to when I would take a few months off exercising... just need to make it part of my regular routine.

What do you do to stay active?

DATE NIGHT

Went out for dinner with some friends for my wife's birthday to a rad New restaurant, funny enough called Nue on Cap Hill. It's street food from around the world.

Of course with my wife being the adventurous one, ordered the water beetles as an appetizer, which was one of the weirdest (though not bad) things I've ever tasted... I may have also had some beetle infused vodka, followed by some fiery drink involving scorpions and cobras!

BUSINESS UPDATE

First quarter of 2019 started off slower than usually but business in April has picked up for me and Sea-Town Real Estate.

4 listing appointments, 3 closings and 1 listing currently in contract. Working on helping several client's prepare their home to sell as well.

Keeps me busy but I love it!

WHAT I'M READING / LISTENING TO

Haven't been doing a lot of reading recently (though I have a stack of books I plan to get to).

My favorite podcasts right now:

I've also been enjoying daily "Flash Briefings".
If you have an Amazon Echo (or the Alexa App on your phone), you can enable different "Skills", like specific Flash Briefings, which are essentially mini podcasts.

Once you enable a few of them, you can say, "Alexa, play my flash briefings" and your Echo will play today's flash briefing content that you have enabled.

I listen to a few real estate flash briefings but also really enjoy Gary Vaynerchuck's Flash Briefing which is essentially mini-best of content. All you have to say is, "Alexa, enable GaryVee 365" and it will be added to your Alexa Skills (warning: he cusses... a lot).

WEST SEATTLE MARKET UPDATE

Spring has sprung, which means the real estate market is starting to heat up too... though maybe not as hot as it has been the last few years.
