Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Margaret River, WA

Regular Price $128

Pre-Release Special $115

Bob Campbell 96 Points!

Moss Wood make their beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon with an exacting approach, working with nature day by day in the vineyard and carrying that attention to detail right through to bottling. Their painstaking work is in pursuit of that quintessential ripeness of flavour, structure and tannin which they achieve so well. Recent releases have shown that they have mastered the variety and regularly make what many consider the region's best. 2016 has given a wine that is as complex as always with trademark depth of flavour and length. It stands amongst the very best they've made. Youthfully exuberant to drink now or keep with assurance for 25+ years of maturation.

"Showing classic Moss Wood aromatic features with Cabernet Sauvignon’s blueberries and mulberries, Cabernet Franc notes of blackberries and violets and Petit Verdot giving sweet musk lollies and dark jubes... notable intensity, one of the more complex Cabernet Sauvignons we’ve made for some time."
- Moss Wood

Museum Releases...
Prestigious Back Vintages
Barbaresco and Barolo

Aged Barbaresco is a treat often sought but rarely encountered. We were thrilled to take on these museum releases of Riserva wines from Produttori del Barbaresco's top crus. These were brought to Australia in refrigerated containers when the producer released the wines, held back by distributors and stored in climate controlled wine warehouses in Melbourne. They are in their prime drinking with assured cellaring.

Produttori del Barbaresco
Moccagatta Riserva 2004

"Everything one wants from a wine at this stage in its life."
"The aromatics are just beginning to show some signs of maturity, but there is plenty of brightness, tannin and overall intensity to allow the wine to drink well for another 15-20 years, and likely longer. Sweet dried cherries, tobacco, mint and sage are some of the notes that open up in the glass." - Antonio Galloni, 2016

Produttori del Barbaresco
Montefico Riserva 2005

"A wine of first-class pedigree. This is an exceptional effort from the Produttori!"
"The 2005 Barbaresco Riserva Montefico is simply beautiful in the way it combines elements of florality and structure, which makes it one of the more complex, multi-faceted wines in 2005. Sweet roses blossom on the palate, followed by succulent ripe raspberries, mint and baking spices. Estimated maturity 2015-2030
." - Robert Parker, 2009

Produttori del Barbaresco
Ovello Riserva 2009

"It is beautiful now and promises an exciting evolution ahead."
"The 2009 Barbaresco Riserva Ovello is a wine of straightforward harmony and genuine richness. The bouquet offers dark fruit, licorice, spice and tobacco. The Ovello cru shows an impressive level of overall opulence. In fact, both the Ovello and the Pajè vineyards have cooler conditions that help them excel in warm vintages like 2009. Estimated maturity 2017-2030
." - Wine Advocate, 2015
