ENTREBOLD: MAY EDITION

Pappajohn Student Entrepreneurial Venture Competition
The statewide Pappajohn Student Entrepreneurial Venture Competition was held in Des Moines on April 26.  Twelve student businesses representing Drake University, University of Northern Iowa, University of Iowa, and Iowa State University had the opportunity to pitch to John Pappajohn & the Equity Dynamics team.

Congratulations to all of the regional finalists including Iowa State student entrepreneurs: Jacob McClarnon & Anthony House (Home Painter), and Chris James (True 360).

Special congratulations to ISU finalist Rebecca Lyons (LunchSox) who took home one of the three $5,000 checks! Top finalists also included No Limbits and Asonus Tech representing the University of Iowa.

Here is your chance to meet the student businesses that will be part of this summer's CYstarters program.  A short program will begin at 5:00 p.m., followed with complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

John Pappajohn Iowa Entrepreneurial Venture Competition
The John Pappajohn Iowa Entrepreneurial Venture Competition is intended to encourage and promote entrepreneurial activity and create greater awareness of the resources available to entrepreneurs in Iowa.  $100,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finalists, including runner-up awards totaling $20,000. 
Deadline to apply is May 20, 2019!

The 2019 John Pappajohn Iowa Entrepreneurial Venture Competition is co-sponsored by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Centers and the Iowa Economic Development Authority.

Summer Internship Opportunity -  CYstarters Technical Intern
The Iowa State Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship is looking for a summer intern to offer technical support to the cohort of student startups participating in the CYstarters summer accelerator in Ames, Iowa.  The position provides the opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial environment supporting student entrepreneurs, learning while you work!

Entrepreneurship and Innovation Learning Community Seminar Class
Students in the program will register for BusAd 292, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Learning Community Seminar, which meets once per week (location will be in the Student Innovation Center once opened). This one-credit course includes an introduction to entrepreneurship and innovation, accompanied by field trips, guest speakers, mentoring, and hands-on learning activities.
