Carl Moberg is stopping by the shop for a special tasting featuring four wines imported by Louis/Dressner. As stated on Dressner's original manifesto from 1999: "We have no brands. We are not looking for them. We do have a group of often fanatical growers who are doing their best to make wines that are original because they are honestly crafted."

You can locate Dressner somewhere between Kermit Lynch and the small, natural wine importers that are on trend today. The Dressner portfolio tends to be more funky and unfiltered and Italian than Lynch's, yet more structured and famed (case in point: Occhipinti) than, say, Fifi's.

This evening's tasting is a great opportunity to sample exceptional wine from a seminal importer while connecting the dots between the more classically styled portfolios of the 70s and the obscure grape varieties and sub-appellations we're gulping today.
