The Spring Fair needs YOU! This beloved community event revolves around volunteer support. It takes around 200 volunteer hours to make this event run smoothly. From the Library
Driscoll Student Book Award voting is now open!  Students in grades 4 through 8 began voting last week for their favorite DSBA nominee. Voting will wrap up early this week, and the winner will be announced by the end of the week.  Speaking of DSBA, fourth and fifth grade classes will participate this week and next in the Battle of the Books, a team based, game show style competition that tests students’ knowledge of the DSBA nominees. To learn more about the DSBA (another PTO Family Giving Campaign funded program!), check out the website here.

This is the time of year that we ask for your help in getting overdue books back to the library.  Students with books overdue will be asked to return those books before new ones can be checked out.  If your child has lost a book, please send in payment asap. The check should be made payable to Driscoll PTO with your child’s name and library book in the memo line.  There are 57 books three or more weeks overdue at the library; we need families to return the books or send in payment so we can replace them. Thank you for helping keep the library full of books!
Happy Reading!

Town-Wide Basketball Game:
7th and 8th graders - On Friday, May 31st members of the Police department, Fire Department School Department, and Brookline Teen Center will compete against some of our BHS students in a full court basketball game. We thought it would be fun to invite members of 7th and 8th grade to compete in a mini tournament and a half time 3-point contest, and we will have prizes available to the winners.  Along with the game and half time entertainment there will be a live DJ, a food truck, high school teens will be throwing fans tee shirts/ teen center gear and an awards presentation at the end of the game. Our goal is to get our younger generation a chance to meet high school students, high school staff, Police Officers and Fire Fighters in a friendly competition.  Any questions can be directed to Officer Michelle Lawlor mlawlor@brooklinema.gov.

Join the Town of Brookline in celebrating LGBTQ Pride Month on Sunday June 2, 2019 from 12-3pm!
